My 5 Must-Haves While Pregnant

When you are pregnant, there are just certain things that you need. Your body is going through some incredible changes, and you’ll need things to help you adapt. As I’m nearing the end of my second trimester, I wanted to share the 5 must-have items that I swear have made a huge difference so far in my pregnancy journey.

Hydro Flask Water Bottle

During my first trimester, I craved ice cold water. Regular cold or room temperature water that would have sufficed before was not cutting it. While these water bottles are a bit pricey, they are 100% worth it. Your water really does stay ice cold all day. I take this water bottle with me literally everywhere. It’s always packed in my purse whenever I’m out, I carry it around the office with me, and I never travel without it.

Pregnancy Pillow

I bought this pillow when I was only 6 weeks pregnant. I know that’s really excessively early, but I was having trouble sleeping and thought “why not?” I love this pillow because I can flip to my left or right side throughout the night and I don’t have to worry about flipping the pillow with me. It has a removable cover for washing. I honestly don’t know if I will ever sleep without it, even after pregnancy. It will also come in handy for nursing after the baby arrives.

LANEIGE Lip Mask & Lip Balm

Since getting pregnant, my skin on my face has gotten a little bit dryer, including my lips. I had heard amazing reviews of this lip mask from other bloggers on Instagram so I decided to try it out. I’m officially addicted. I can’t go to sleep without putting this on my lips. It’s so smooth! When I wake up, my lips are baby soft. During the day, I use the lip balm. The lip balm is like a lighter version of the lip mask. It is also very smooth and not sticky like other lip balms can be.

Comfortable Basics

  • Maternity leggings: I loved wearing leggings before getting pregnant, and I love them during pregnancy now too. I prefer the high waisted ones because I feel like everything is being supported well.

  • Padded bras without underwire: This is like an elevated sports bra. When my boobs started to grow in my first trimester, I couldn’t stand underwire any longer and didn’t want to invest in new bras that I might not wear later. I decided to go with a comfortable, seamless bralette and I may never go back to regular bras after this.

  • Cardigan sweaters: I invested in several cardigans during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. These are great to wear in the office (I often wear them with leggings because they cover the booty). I didn’t have any good cardigans before being pregnant. These will be great to wear way beyond pregnancy and for years to come.

Burts Bees Belly Butter

At around 12 weeks, I started applying this to my belly once in the morning and once at night before going to bed. I don’t think my stomach skin has ever been softer. It is very thick, rich, and silky. It doesn’t make me feel sticky at all. I feel like I’m at a spa and pampering myself every time I use this. I feel confident that it is helping with avoiding stretch marks. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is pregnant.
