It is hard to believe that my baby sister is going to be getting married in less than 3 months! It's been so wonderful to be involved in her wedding planning process. From bridal fittings, picking out accessories, shopping for decorative accents, and having the privilege of designing her wedding invitation suite—I have loved being about to use my creative talent to assist in the wedding design.
When she first started thinking about how she wanted the wedding to look and feel, I designed my sister a wedding mood board. It helped capture the colors, casual atmosphere, and design direction she wanted her wedding to be. Here's the mood board that I designed:
Save the Date & Invitation
During Christmas, my sister and her fiancé came and visited us. We were able to sit down together and discuss what she wanted her wedding save the dates and invitations to say, look like, and then design it together. It was a really cool process because she has never worked with me on any design project before, and I was able to capture exactly what they wanted for their dream wedding. Below are the designs for the save the date and wedding invitation (including RSVP card):
This past weekend, I traveled to Richmond to attend my sister's bridal shower. It was so much fun to be able to love on her and meet her fiancé's family. My mom asked me to design the shower invitation that was delivered around Valentine's Day. I also designed a fun bridal shower game with her succulent theme. Here's what the designs looked like:
The final design that I have created (so far) is a custom print that we can use for decoration at the wedding. I gave it to my sister at her bridal shower as a gift and it is proudly displayed in their apartment now. June 10th cannot get here soon enough!
I have loved every second working together with my sister on making her dream wedding a reality. It has really drawn us closer together throughout this process and I love that.
If you know anyone getting married that needs help creating a customized wedding design/theme, please send them my way!
