Everything Apple—Recipes & Technology

For the past four years, we've gone apple picking to mark the start of Fall. It's one of my favorite traditions that we started since getting married. We always invite a big group of friends and make a day out of it. This year, we went a little earlier than normal—in mid-September. It was a good decision to go earlier because there were so many apples to choose from! We've been a little disappointed in the past when we've gone later in the season because the apples get pretty picked over once everyone else is in "Fall-season" mode.

This year, our favorite variety of apples that we picked was called Ruby John. It is so delicious! I've never heard of them before since it's not a common one that you'd find at the grocery store. They are very similar to Honey Crisp. I'm officially obsessed.

We picked 14 pounds of apples! Needless to say, I'm going to be cooking with a lot of apples now.

What are your favorite apple recipes?

Here are new recipes that I plan on trying:

In other apple related news...I purchased the Apple Watch Series 3. I literally just got it and I'm still figuring it out. I did not get the cellular version—just the GPS version. Since the Series 2 came out, I've been super intrigued with the Apple Watch and have been researching and learning as much as possible. I mainly got it for the fitness tracker/GPS and to receive notifications if I'm away from phone. I love how seamless everything is from my phone to my watch. I'm still learning how to use it and utilize all the features, but so far it's been pretty cool. I'll definitely be posting a full review of it when I've had more time to use it.

Here's the exact model that I purchased:
